Monday 6 December - Meeting Mayú-Sumaj

Leo Barbera and Marco Pizarro, two volunteer rangers environments Cuesta Blanca, attended the council meeting urban environmental Sumaj Mayú to share and discuss opinions and issues.

Saturday 10 and Sunday 12 December - Tours

On Sunday, Leo began his tour at 12:00 pm. It was cool and sunny. He found several people who said environmental standards of conduct and handed leaflets. While costs in general were clean, picked up some trash. Had no incidents with fires in places not.

On the other hand, Sebastian Richardi (the new ranger Cuesta Blanca) was traveling and collecting garbage at other times during the Saturday and Sunday. He says that the weekend was busy, and general visitors appreciated the information and are happy with the draft Cuesta Blanca as quiet and natural. Many showed him their own trash bag as an indication their willingness to collaborate. He said that at the barbecue industry, despite the barriers, there are cars that can park nearby and it allows visitors put some loud music while on grill. Many people lose the music on the request of park ranger or guard-room, but then rise again. In one case, Sebastian sought the assistance of the police.

Saturday 19 December - Large Village Plantation in

Saturday was an ideal day for planting trees, very cloudy, with a fine drizzle. We put molle seedlings, apple field, logging, carob, gorse, peach field stick milk or chilli, Moradillo, orc quebracho, and a vine of jasmine chile family. Renison and thank Romina Torres Ronaldo, who under the Reforestation and Conservation Project of the Sierras de Córdoba, produced seedlings. That day, Stella Arioza apricot cake was incredibly rich with which we celebrate the final work.

Sunday 19 December - Tours

Sunday was a cloudy and somewhat rainy. Marco and Sebastian Pizarro crossed the coast at noon. There were few visitors, they found only two groups in the the barbecue area, a group on the bridge and another in the fall of the Nightingale. With all of them talking, discussing the care that should be in the trash, fire and loud music. They also collected some garbage. Marco said that the sector remains very small litter grills difficult to collect (caps, bits of paper, etc.). Also says that the river is a little messy for the lack of growing.

Bars and environmental standards of conduct

The FATF bar dealers are committed to a free Cuesta Blanca noises, and are following the advice of the rangers in relation to the volume of music and other environmental standards of conduct. The new bar is called "Cuesta Natural White Bar "which is also showing the willingness to work properly with the profile of Cuesta Blanca.

The bridge also keeps this commitment, because when there is music on the premises of Robert or Martha, usually at low volume listening only localized manner.

Resolutions on clearing, litter and noise nuisance

As a result of a long participatory process, residents currently have the support of three resolutions in force governing garbage problems, disassemble and noise. The Commune 've provided the text of the resolutions, and we hung these texts on our blog: http://vecinoscuestablanca.blogspot.com/ . (look for the label "resolutions").

Diquecito The commune is improving access Pedestrian also older and hard to visit the site, and added a trash can.

Rangers community: more hours of courses

In a letter dated May 2010 environments rangers hope to demonstrate the need for more hours of coverage community park guards (see letter in http://vecinoscuestablanca.blogspot.com/ ). Consistent with this concern, the municipality joined Sebastian, who is working as a ranger since early December. Sebastian made tours and environmental education work with visitors both Saturdays and Sundays, and few days a week.

La Rinconada and the way Cabalango

Gonzalo Roman de La Rinconada told me that the work continues at the site where the Province months ago stopped a clearing by management of the Commune of Cuesta Blanca. Not know yet what type of establishment will, but it is likely that this is the first step in a process of urbanization, clearing and introduction of alien species as a result of scheduled Cabalango asphalt road. Arguably this will bring terrestrial ecosystem degradation and loss of quality of local waterways. The only way to avoid this degradation announced to promote the creation of reserves with land expropriation, as is being done in the mountainside of Carlos Paz.

police Collaboration

Police are actively working to control fires and tents in places not, and the control of noise. Any problems, you can call 101 and handled in Icho Cruz.

The San Roque could provide drinking water to Carlos Paz and around

Villa Carlos Paz .- In the search for alternatives to solve the problems related to supply and technical officials of the municipality of Villa Carlos Paz working on the layout a work plan to take water from Lake San Roque, treat and distribute drinking among the inhabitants of the city and surrounding communities. The initiative would have the support of Mayor Carlos Felpeto and would be headed by Aldo Scagliarini, who determined that the socket is locate in Costa Azul and the water is pumped from there to the treatment plants.
Stopping San Antonio river water and start doing the lake, is a proposal that has a long history in the city that never happened for fear of the costs that could lead to drinking. And it is a reality, which, if put into effect this delivery system, the municipality must make a significant investment in equipment, because the process of water purification San Roque will be more intense than they did in its main tributary. While
testimonies agree that this is an experimental process, the ambitious project that works garnered the Executive Department and several "supporters" who understand that this could be a solution to the lack of water during periods of drought, and an opportunity not to continue running the rivers and streams that make up the basin of the reservoir known.
Specifically, the plan includes making the pumping station in an area of Costa Azul, where water treatment plants sent to La Quinta and a third facility that the radio emplazaría center of the city. Also intended to take place outside of Carlos Paz, has to do with the opportunity to send fluid to the gated communities and developments that unfold along the highway linking Punilla Córdoba.
However, it is estimated that the quartermaster should manage funds from the national or provincial government address the "work plan" and do a precise work on the fluid removed. In that sense, we must work seriously to avoid the same thing happen that happened with the provision of water Cordoba, who has "a strong smell of seaweed and a strange taste," according to neighbors reported the provincial capital. "When you have algae blooms, as in the San Roque Lake, the conditions of potable water are disastrous, so that after the process, often still remains a trace of smell and taste", argued the company's technical advisory They filled: "That does not happen, it is necessary to increase costs and expensive purification process. Although we say that the treated water is harmless to health, although the taste and smell is not the usual ".

Reports

Sunday 28 November - Tours, pepper trees and posters

dawned cloudy. Early in the morning, two people were pepper trees planted in the field of the FUVA near the road leading to San Pablo. We do not know who they were, but I appreciate the cooperation to restore the burned area. Later we found that the trees were not watered. This may be a mistake, as a seedling, not to die, you need at least 10 liters of water after transplanting. A timely rain that fell after possibly helped correct the error. That same day, Ivan Daniel Renison posters were doing maintenance, painting the poles to impregntante to last longer. At noon was very cloudy and there were very few visitors. Elisa Riffo made the rounds, collecting some garbage and reaching the grill, where two families were recognized for their recommendations and the care of the place.

Wednesday, 1 December - Carp and fire

In the evening when there was almost no light, a young couple settled in the sand with a tent, without respecting the signs for the ban. Regardless of that time was also unstable and could have increased. I went to speak but did not want to go. I warned of the risk, and finally moved a little higher. Later, Elisa Riffo heard them breaking branches and told them he could not make fire or camping. They ignored the warning, and seeing the fire, both Tara and I, independently, call the police. The police, working with us, they were forced to extinguish the fire. A very early the next morning dismantled the tent.

Sunday 5 December - Tours

Sebastian We did the tour with the new ranger (see news). Trash together and speak with several visitors. A family who had seen the signs for the ban, was doing the roast between some rocks near the beach. We asked them to finish cooking the meat on the grill. We explained that if other visitors will see the posters, and also view them by fire, environmental standards were to be implausible. There were very angry because they knew they had been misled and left. Later we went to the barbecue industry, finding a group with loud music (the barriers not fully prevent some cars are near the grill). To our request, the music fell reluctantly. Later we went with Sebastian to talk to Leon, the new licensee of the bar of the FATF (see news). Finally, when Sebastian had gone to the area of the slope of the nightingale, I detected a couple making a fire in an area very close to sign with all the icons. In addition to not following the rules, they were using a tutor who had taken out of our trees to stoke the fire. Notice to the mine, extinguish the fire in a bad mood and left. Later I talked with an older couple who was having lunch the lunch box under the chillies quietly, and said they were very happy with all the care, beauty and tranquility of the place.

Monday December 6 - Identification and recovery of native shrubs and trees in the San Antonio River levels

Very good. Sixty students from fourth grade school in San Antonio, along with teachers, members of the Assembly ADARSA and South Punilla Awake, agents and Civil Defence community, sought, identified and recovered shrubs and native trees on the shores of the San Antonio River. The event took place near the headquarters of ADARSA. This activity served to put into practice the knowledge acquired by children throughout the year, environmental work given by teachers and managers in the same school. (Information provided by Marco Ferrero, of ADARSA). The photos will go in the next newsletter.

Sebastian the new ranger

Richardi Sebastian is the new community ranger hired to replace Emily. Will work in coordination with Joaquin environmental issues Cuesta Blanca. Sebastian will be walking every Saturday and Sunday, along environments with volunteer rangers, and will also work three days a week in the Commune. Will soon have his ranger uniform.

Bar FATF and the regulation of noise pollution

Leon and his family, the new FATF bar dealers were notified by the rangers about the resolution of noise. Furthermore, the municipality does not enable as hostel, but as a bar, which has quite different implications in terms of advertising they can do. The most important thing is that Leon said the best disposition to adapt to our rules of conduct and regulations. He assured us that will follow directions of park rangers in relation to the volume of music and disposal of waste. In the picture you can see Leon, back to the left. The green shirt boy is the expert sound, which will assemble the layout of the speakers, which are small and functional, so that the sound does not leave the premises. The bar will be operational on Saturday 11.

interpretation Trail

The community is getting the signs made for the trail Emiliano interpretation. Soon we will have it enabled, and the visitor will be able to cross it, knowing the main species of trees in our mountain forests.

The importance of environmental policy

Magoo told me, a resident of San Antonio who often come to Cuesta Blanca, a Saturday was quietly playing with his kids in the river, and from the area of the Indian stone began to feel very loud music from a car. It was with one of his children to speak, and asked them if they had been so good posters. The boys, who were listening to The Round, apologized, turned off the music and not make it again throughout the afternoon. Magoo says he was very good to appeal to the lineup, which was a few steps and explicitly prohibits loud music. Posters, brochures, and the cooperation of the neighbors show the determination of the people and their authorities to conserve Cuesta Blanca as a quiet place. This encourages visitors themselves to help us in controlling and maintaining the site.

The Commune 've provided the text of the resolutions, and we hung these texts on our blog: http://vecinoscuestablanca.blogspot.com/ .

To facilitate compliance, Commune given a copy of the resolutions to Police . also is distributing the resolution on the establishment noises that could cause such a problem.

The resolutions came at the request of the neighbors, and were discussed widely by all those who want to participate. It is now important that all work together so that regulations are applied. This is important to read well and make resolutions asking the world community when we detect are not met.

As part of a practical, planted 11 saplings (a molle, a carob, a gorse-eight Moradillo) in sector 1 of the Reservation, near the area where we planted last year. In addition, disarmed a fire and gathered a bit of trash and glass. With them was a while Inés García (voluntary environmental rangers) who told them the work we do the neighbors in the Reserve, and thanked them for coming to help.

Students Balcarce Merceditas Garden Saint Martin (Icho Cruz) came to Cuesta Blanca with their teachers (Silvia, Patricia and Maria) to plant native trees in the reserve. The Coopi helped the group pay for the kids could come up here. Pepper trees planted, Moradillo, carob, pimples, Cucharero, horco-Moller, apple and chilli field (also called stick-milk, or tilefish). Furthermore, with the help of Emily put a sign can be seen in the photo: "We are recovering the native forest. Kindergarten of Icho Cruz. "

Sunday 14 November - Travels

Fernando Barri made the journey. The day was cloudy but warm, with many visitors. Fernando spoke with several of them directly in the path, as they were coming, and gave them brochures. Most knew of the grills, and headed directly to the sector enabled. Near the bridge before the Water Treatment Plant, a couple was already almost finished with the roast. Fernando challenged them a little and apologized, saying they did not know (But now there are many signs!), And promised to turn it off well. Fernando says it collected more trash than usual, for the most number of visitors.

Sunday 21 and Monday 22 November - Travels

Emiliano Sunday made his last tour as a ranger in Cuesta Blanca. It was very hot and there were people early. In the background to the southwest were dark clouds and thunder was heard. For this reason, Emiliano not only explained the rules of conduct for visitors, but also should take precautions against a possible rising river. Later, a downpour fell short, and most of the visitors left. But as the sun is out, more visitors came to the afternoon, and Emily gave all indications of the growing.

On Monday 22 rained almost all day, the river rose (see picture on what's new) and almost no visitors. Despite the rain and posters, a small group with two tents set up after noon in the area of the Piedra del Indio. I went to tell them that they could not camp, and told them where I was camping.
